The Gurkhas - 25 Fall Ballers - 15
In the final week of fall ball , 4 teams were tied at 5-3 and the Gurkhas were able to win both games Tuesday to tie for first place with Gary Downey's Inglorious Batters with a 7-3 record . It was a warm fall evening and a perfect night for softball . The Gurkhas started out slow this year missing some key players early .We had a 1-3 record after the second week but we were able to finish the season with a streak of 6 wins to get to 7-3 . We were able to pick up Todd Gronhke for 2 weeks which helped but our team mates never gave up hitting the ball well and playing good defense and it was nice to have 3 different pitchers to mix it up . Everyone had at least one hit and all 12 of our players scored at least one run. Hitting leaders were Jeff Baker 4/4 with an inside the park homer and an OTFHR 4 runs , Josh Zeitz 4/4 2doubles and 3 runs , Jim bier 4/4 double 3 runs , Jeff Husky 4/4 double 3 runs Jim Beier 3/3 2 runs , Allen Myette 2/4 3 runs , Paul Weslowski 2/4 double 2 runs , Larry Hack 2/4 and Gary Parthemer 2/4 .
The Gurkhas - 17 Fall Ballers - 16
In the nitecap - second game- Gurkhas up 4 in the 7th, the Fall Ballers bounced back with 3 - losing 17-16. Our defense met the challenge. The Gurkhas scored in every inning in both games . Batting leaders were Josh Zeitz 4/4 1 OTFHR, 1 double, 3-runs, Jeff Aiello 3/4 triple 2 -runs Allen Myette 3/4 2 -runs , Jeff Husky 2/2 2 BB 2-runs. Every one else with 2 hits and 11 of 12 scoring at least 1 run . Hats off to the Fall Ballers who never gave up playing shorthanded - missing a few top players .
I would like to thanks all my teammates for a great year and for being great teammates .

In the finale, the Inglorious ones got the victory behing a torrid hitting spree that resulted in 25 scored runs through the first 5 innings. It wasn't easy though as L & L just kept hitting too. This team started 1-3 then ran off 6 straight wins that led to the Fall League Co- Championship, shared with Jeff Aiello's outstanding Gurkhas team. In those 6 wins we outscored our opponents to the tune of 143-88, for a 9.2 run margin. Every Inglorious player contributed heavily to this teams success. In this game we knocked out 34 hits again which included the first 6 hitters in the lineup putting out 4 hits each. Matt Zuvers came on very strong in the second half and finished at .688. Kim Crosby had countless key hits and finished at .531 and Brett Crosby's pitching and defense were outstanding and was key to this teams success. Bob Collins got to play 6 games before foot surgery but was outstanding as he hit .818 with 3 OTF HR and 22 RBI. Tommy Pollard was missing this night but played very well and finished at .652 with 2 OTF HR. I want to thank Ron Klostermeier for keeping the scorebook all season, he did a great job. And thanks to the best group of teammates you could ask for. Well done Inglorious Batters!
